On the occasion of 70th birthday October 9, 2010, the life of John Lennon and his music are specially celebrated with a variety of outputs and commemorative events around the world.
Fully supervised by Yoko Ono, has started the initiative on October 4 Gimme Some Truth, which includes eight classic albums of John Lennon's solo career and other records relevant remastered from the original mix.
The albums have been digitally remastered from the original mix of Lennon by Yoko Ono and a team of engineers led by Allan Rouse at London's Abbey Road and EMI by George Marino Avatar studios in New York. All titles will be remastered in digipack that reproduces the original album artwork adorned with pictures and booklets with new liner notes written for the occasion by the British music journalist Paul Du Noyer.
The "Gimme Some Truth" include:
A compilation of hits (CD DVD and CD) called Power To The People: The Hits, which collects 15 of the most popular songs of Lennon comes in two versions: single (physical CD and digital) and Experience Edition (CD DVD) by adding of special tools. Both versions will be in digipack with a booklet that includes new liner notes by Du Noyer ever.
4CD box with a theme entitled Gimme Some Truth, with a slipcase packaging with rare photos and new liner notes written by American journalist and writer Anthony DeCurtis. The box will include 72 songs by Lennon on four CD subjects: Roots - John's rock 'n' roll roots and Influences / Working Class Hero - John's socio-political songs / Woman - John's love songs / Borrowed Time - John's songs about life.
Finally, the John Lennon Signature Box, a limited edition box set available as a CD with 11 digital and eight remastered album (also sold separately), an album of rare tracks and previously unreleased singles and an EP with never included on albums .
The album is John Lennon Plastic Ono Band (1970) / Imagine (1971) / Some Time In New York City (1972) / Mind Games (1973) / Walls And Bridges (1974) / Rock n 'Roll (1975) / Double Fantasy (1980) and Milk And Honey (1984). In particular, Double Fantasy will be available in a completely "stripped"
(Stripped down) remixed and produced by Yoko Ono and Jack Douglas.
